Let's get writing!

 Let's dream about our success and be real about it at the same time. Let's not worry about writing something we feel would be commercially successful in an effort to appeal to agents and publishers, and let's be honest with ourselves. To write a New York Times bestseller would be amazing, and to create a new trend to annoy publishers with would be a dream come true.

Let's also be real. It's going to take a lot of hard work, dedication, and motivation to get that first draft done. It's going to take even more dedication to go back and see what's wrong with your baby and fix it.

Writing is more than just putting thoughts and words down. Writing is about courage, about believing in your ideas, and about taking chances. Write in short bursts. Write like you're taking a Sunday drive.

But mostly importantly, write to make yourself happy.

Let's write. Let's enjoy the process, the heartache, the tears, the frustration . . . and the joy that comes with having written.
